Business process management (BPM) is a field inoperations management that focuses on improving corporate performance by managing and optimizing a company's business processes. It can therefore be described as a process optimization process. BPM enables organizations to be more efficient, more effective and more capable of change than a functionally focused, traditional hierarchical management approach. These processes can impact the cost and revenue generation of an organization.

The goal of BPM is to reduce human error and miscommunication and focus stakeholders on the requirements of their roles. BPM is a subset of infrastructure management, an administrative area concerned with maintaining and optimizing an organization's equipment and core operations. BPM is often a point of connection within a company between the line-of-business and the IT department.

This Certification helps organizations leverage processes to achieve their goals and be successful. Once processes are implemented, they must be monitored, evaluated, and optimized to make sure they are still meeting the goals that they were designed to accomplish.
